RESEARCHES.

Habe sehr viel recherchiert darüber, was Musik für Menschen bedeuten kann. Über ihre Erlebnisse, Theorien, Emotionen. Das Erschreckende: Ich bin nicht allein! Alles schon mal dagewesen. Es gibt unendlich viele Blogs, Webpages, Bücher und Filme über das weitreichende Thema Konzerte, Mixtapes, usw. Auch die meisten Titel, die mir für mein Buch vorschwebten, sind mir in irgendeiner Form begegnet.

So sehr wie ich das Internet liebe und verehre – manchmal kann es echt fies und mit seiner Flut an Informationen einfach überfordernd sein.

Sehr viele interessante Beiträge gab es jedoch von 2003 anlässlich des 40.Geburtstages der Musik-Kassette. Zum Beispiel eine sehr coole Ausstellung im Museum für Kommunikation in Hamburg und Frankfurt "Kassettengeschichten – von Menschen und ihren Mixtapes", auf die mich mein Freund Jann aufmerksam gemacht hatte. Leider gibt's die Internetseite nicht mehr. Dafür aber hier eine kurze Beschreibung. Die eigentlich vergriffene Begleitpublikation habe ich nun doch bestellen können.

Besonders viel ist mir an dem Buch "High Fidelity" von Nick Hornby gelegen, was wohl jeder zumindest als Film kennt. Meine lieben Freunde Vena und David haben dieses erst kürzlich in einem Berliner Trödel-Laden gefunden und mir geschenkt, kurz nachdem wir über mein Diplomthema sprachen. Danke nochmal, ihr beiden.

[ I did a lot of researching about what music can mean to people. About their experiences, theories, emotions. It's terrifying: I'm not alone! Everything seen before. There are so many blogs, webpages, books and movies about the wide-ranging issue concerts, mixtapes, etc. And most of the titles I head in mind for my book already appeared in any form.

You know, I do love and worship the internet, but sometimes it can be very mean and so overcharging with all its information.

However, there were a lot of very interesting articles in 2003 in celebration of the 40th birthday of the audio cassette. I read about a nice exhibition in Germany which dealed with people and their mixtapes. My friend Jann told me about it. Too sad, I haven't seen it. The page isn't on anymore either. But I made it to find a book which was published with this event.
