!!! FINALLY DONE !!!

Hallo Ihr. Hier bin ich endlich wieder. Die Pause war lang, viel zu lang. Und leider auch nicht wirklich entspannend. Durch die Schmerzen in den Armen konnte ich nichts oder nur ganz wenig machen. Mir war vorher nie bewusst, dass man seine Arme eigentlich ständig braucht. Um wenigstens erstmal meine Diplomarbeit beenden zu können, habe ich die Tracklist ein wenig reduzieren müssen. Dabei sind leider Tocotronic und Jonah Matranga rausgeflogen und damit musste ich auch darauf verzichten, meine lieben Freunde Jenny und Constantin vorzustellen. Die beiden seien an dieser Stelle ganz ganz lieb gegrüßt.

Und hier nochmal eine Skizze zum Aufbau der Arbeit:

Nochmal als Zusammenfassung: Im Hauptbuch „Now Playing“ erzähle ich die Geschichten, die mir zu den zehn Songs in den Sinn kommen. Diese sind alle auf Postern (Größe: 43 x 63 cm) umgesetzt, außer Track 5 und Track 7, welche als Zwischenseiten zwischen den Hüllen eingeheftet sind, in denen sich die gefalzten Poster befinden. In den Texten sind einige Namen hervorgehoben mit dem Verweis, auf welcher Seite in den Begleitbüchern man mehr darüber lesen kann. Im Begleitbuch „Artists“ findet man zu den Interpreten der zehn Songs verschiedene Hintergrundinfos, selbst geführte Interviews und Konzertfotos. Das Begleitbuch „Friends“ stellt die erwähnten Freunde durch bebilderte Interviews vor. Dabei verwendete ich auf den Seiten der Künstler und der Freunde jeweils die gleichen Gestaltungselemente wie auf den dazu gehörigen Postern.
Mit Hilfe von ganz vielen lieben Freunden, denen ich später noch danke, habe ich die Arbeit dann endlich fertig stellen können. Am 30.06.2010 war die Präsentation und seitdem bin ich – tataaa! – Diplom-Designerin (Kommunikationsdesign, FH).
Danach gings erstmal ein paar Tage in Last-Minute-Urlaub. Nun werde ich noch ein paar Kräfte sammeln, damit ich bald wieder richtig fit bin und mich ins Berufsleben stürzen kann. Olé!

[ Hey out there. Here I am again – after a long break, a much too long break that wasn‘t even relaxing. With pain in my arms I wasn‘t able to do anything or could do only a little. I never realised before how important your arms really are. But I needed to finish my diploma work and so I decided to reduce some of the content. That‘s why I had to kick out Tocotronic and Jonah Matranga and so I also had to leave out my lovely friends Jenny and Constantin. I‘m sorry for that and wanna send hearty greetings to them at this point.

And this is again a sketch which shows how my book project is structured:

A short summary of my concept: In the main book „Now Playing“ I‘m telling the stories that come in my mind when I think about one of these ten songs. They are all to be read on posters (size: 16,9 x 24,8‘‘), in exeption of track 5 and track 7 – they are written on pages which are binded between the slipcovers with the folded posters. In the stories there are some names highlighted and a footnote tells the reader on which page he can find more information about this person (artist or friend) in the companion books. In the companion book “Artists“ you can find some background information to the performers of the ten songs, as well as interviews I did with some of them and concert pictures I took. The companion book “Friends“ introduces the mentioned friends with interviews and photos. Thereby I always used the same design elements for the pages of the friends and artists as on the belonging posters.
With the help of a lot of my great friends (who I‘ll say thanks to later) I finally could finish the project. My presentation was on June 30th 2010 and since this day I‘m a qualified designer with diploma. Yeha! After this I relaxed some days in a Last-minute-holiday. Now I take some time to pull myself together and get started for working life. Yeah. But first I wanna show you some pics of the final work. Thanks for following!]
